Things to do at the Mall of America
The best thing about the MOA is that it’s a warm place, during MN’s cold seasons, to play, eat, and lastly shop. It is something fun to do in Minneapolis during the winter. The problem is there are so many things to do at the Mall of America so plan wisely because it can be the experience of your dreams or of your nightmares. Don’t end up hangry and irritable wandering around this huge mall aimlessly spending your hard-earned money in the wrong spots.
I grew up in Saint Paul, ran around the mall as a teenager, and I worked at two different stores at the MOA, therefore, I speak from experience when I give you a few tips and tricks that will help you enjoy the Mall of America and more importantly do the right things for you. Not everyone goes to the MOA for the same reasons. This blog will cover people who are going to the MOA to play.
Bring the kids? If shopping isn’t the #1 priority then yes 😊!!! because there’s a lot of fun things to do at the Mall of America for the whole family. My parents bring the grandkids and they love it. Nickelodeon Universe is the indoor amusement park with rides for all ages. I suggest the unlimited ride pass at Nickelodeon Universe because it’s the best value for your money. If you want more of an education type of experience try the Sea Life Aquarium, this aquarium includes tunnels that allow one to walk through the depths of the aquarium with stingrays and sharks just feet away. Just as much fun for the adults as the kids.
A new attraction at the MOA is Flyover America. This isn’t just a ride it’s a Disney like experience, in fact there is a ride at Disney that is the same technology. A number of my Bed and Breakfast Guest have enjoyed this ride and recommend it to anyone playing at the MOA.
The Mall of America is the premiere venue of choice for events that feature meet and greets for celebrities, fund raisers, musical promotions and live TV events. I once caught a cheerleading and dance competition by accident. You may not be as lucky so check out this events page before you go and see what is going on while you will be there, did I mention these events are FREE?
Escape rooms are really popular right now. This is a fun way to get know people and have an experience that tests your best. The Escape Game has five different adventures to choose.
Lastly, among the things to do at the Mall of America, it is the best place to catch dinner and a movie in Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The CMX theater just opened up this year, it has 14 different screens, and this is a very nice place to see a movie. The MOA has a large variety of restaurants that a whole separate blog could be written about.
Hopefully this has been helpful to you. People come from all over to visit the MOA. If you are coming in from out of town you may ask where to stay near the Mall or America. Stay at a bed and breakfast in the area and get gourmet breakfast in your belly before you go play.
